It is essential to avoid this product in patients having unexplained vaginal bleeding, phlebitis, blood clots in the lung, or any other clotting disorder, liver disease or liver problems, known or suspected breast cancer, any type of tumor stimulated by estrogen, active or recent (within the last year) heart disease, heart attack, or stroke, an allergy to any component of the drug.  

Progynova may lead to some degree of fluid retention. Hence patients with conditions that might be influenced by this factor, such as asthma, epilepsy, migraine, and cardiac or renal dysfunction, call for careful inspection when estrogens are prescribed.

Long term and repeated use of natural and synthetic estrogens in certain animal species increases the occurrence of carcinomas of the cervix, vagina, testis, breast, uterus, and liver.Progynova should not be given to patients who have allergic to this drug or any of its ingredients.
