The Parks of Bay Harbor Islands

Bay Harbor Islands are located within a metropolitan part of Miami.  There are many parks within the area that allow you to relax and enjoy the beautiful green space that surrounds the county.  Many families enjoy recreation and entertainment with beautiful weather to accompany most of the events.  Unlike many areas within the United States, Bay Harbor Islands enjoy seasonable weather most of the year.  With the exception of hurricane possibilities, most families are able to use the parks for the majority of the year.

There are two parks within the area of Bay Harbor Islands.  If you have younger children, you are probably concerned about taking children to parks.  Some parks have older equipment that may not be safe for all children.  Bay Harbor Island parks have areas for children and even tots.  The playgrounds are well equipped with new swings and slides.  They are perfect for small children.  In addition, there is an after-school recreation program at the elementary school where they can use the playground and have structured activities.  The program is sponsored by the elementary school and the Town of Bay Harbor.

If you like to play tennis, there are three new tennis courts that are available to you as a resident of Bay Harbor.  The courts can be used for a leisurely game or private lessons.  Some of the area summer camps for kids use the courts also.   It is easy to invite a friend to a game of tennis and enjoy full use of the tennis courts as a resident of Bay Harbor.

The Town of Bay Harbor makes sure that its residents enjoy themselves.  Each year they plan social activities to help the neighbors get to know one another.  The social events are provided at no cost and are held twice a year with entertainment and refreshments.  It is a great event to get out with your neighbors.  The children can play together and have a good time.  The parties are designed to be interactive.  Advertising begins prior to the party date to let the residents know what to expect at the event.  

If you enjoy Halloween, you will love the Bay Harbor Halloween party.  Each year there is a Halloween Party that is sponsored and organized by the Town of Bay Harbor and the Police Department.  Each year the party grows larger and larger.  Many residents decorate their homes in preparation for the upcoming party.
